The Senate will be voting soon on S 3217 “Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act 2010″ This is the Senate version of HR 4173 which passed in the House of Representatives at the beginning of this year. The vast majority of Tea Party Patriots’ Local Coordinators from all over the country agreed on our most recent weekly conference call that this is a bad bill and we oppose it.

Let them know that we do not want the government bailing out or taking over any more private companies. It’s not their money to be spending, and they are exceeding the bounds of the US Constitution.

There’s a lot of hay being made about this recent Health Care Reform Legislation “Imposed” on us by our senators and representatives. Why is everyone freaking out? Why are states suing the federal government? Why are state legislatures taking steps to protect their citizens from our federal government? Why are people seeking to recall their US senators and representatives?
For those who either couldn’t be bothered or didn’t have the time to read the bills, what follows is a very brief outline of what’s in them:

Tea Party Patriots has launched a petition to Repeal the Health Care Reform bill passed by the US House of Representatives this past weekend against the will of the American people. Please add your voice to the 75,000+ who have already signed this petition.

Tea Partiers, and others Rally on the West Lawn of the US Capitol to Protest “Obama-Care” With a vote scheduled for 1:00 (EDT) tomorrow Americans have taken their case to their Representatives. There’s no doubt that these guys are hearing us. Now they’re just governing against the will of their constiuents. Keep Calling, Faxing, Emailing, and Visiting them; Let them know that you don’t want this thing to pass- I just got off the phone with JennyBeth Martin (Tea Party Patriots National Coordinator), and Wes Whitby (Tea Party Patriots of the Twin Cities) We are making a difference! The Rally in DC was so loud that the House Rules Committee had to adjourn. Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi were running scared out of the House Building with Tea Partiers shouting behind them. Tomorrow there’s a Prayer Service in the rotunda at 11:00am EDT, the final vote will be at 1:00pm EDT which will be taken in three parts. People, keep the heat on! We can still kill this legislation. With all this talk of the “Deem Scheme” or “Slaughter Solution”, the Minnesota House of Representatives has two bills before them that would protect Minnesotans from sweeping federal legislation, and the government Take Over of Health Care.

Call, phone, fax, e-mail, or visit your state representative and urge them to support these bills. While you’re at it, tell Gov. Pawlenty that we as a state need to assert our 10th amendment rights.

Over 60% of Americans do NOT want this bill yet that does not matter to the Democrats in Congress. Sen. Coburn said on Tea Party Patriots’ Hot Tea Radio program today, that current polling shows 48% of Americans want the entire health care bill scrapped and to start over. Only 25% of Americans even want this bill, and polling shows jobs is the top priority for Americans and health care reform ranks well down the list at number six. Yet Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat leadership in the House and the Senate are prepared to shove this bill down our throats, regardless of what the American people want.
