Tea Party Patriots of the Twin Cities held about an hour long “Eating Meeting” at Perkins Riverside, we had a good turn out. We were visited by two candidates, but the real stars of the event were everyday americans who recognized that they needed to become involved.
Sidewalk Rally
After the meeting, a group of us went over to Rep. Keith Ellison’s office to protest out of control govt. spending.

Feb. 21st Stop Al Franken and Organizing for America Protest:
There was a strong showing of support for Tea Party Patriots in opposition to the Push for the Government Take-Over of health care. Mitch Berg of AM 1280 was there with us, and Barb Davis White came by to show her support for us.

>>2. It’s the start of choosing Republican candidates
You lost me here. I don’t think there is any saving the GOP at this point. I understand the risks involved in starting a true “thrid” party, but crossing your collective fingers, hoping for the best, and voting Republican like always changes nothing.
If we get into the business of simply endorsing candidates of the established parties, we are trying our reputation and message to those candidates. We all know that these guys answer to their respecive parties moreso than to the people, which means they hold no true loyalty to us. As soon as a couple of these endorsed candidates turns moderate, our perceived effectiveness is lost because we no longer have a position from which to differentiate ourselves from the existing (and unexciting) conservative organizations.
I say we need a true Tea Party (capital “P”) with its own candidates and its own platform. I’d rather go down fighting, using our own shared principles, and lose than to pretend that we are effecting change where there is none to be had. We need candidates that appeal to us, who we can support wholeheartedly with a true political party infrastructure, and who ultimately answer to us and our political machine.
“2. It’s the start of choosing Republican candidates”
Editing error, sorry…
To the other comments you make:
Is it not better to become active in the party of your chosing, and dictate the platform, and select the candidates yourself? I propose that we do not need to create yet another party, but rather take back the party that most closely represents your given views, and push for support of our core principles.

Sheriff Mack will be our featured speaker at our next event, to be held on November 14th, in Bloomington, MN. (see flyer details)
Hi, I’m Richard Mack, former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona, and long-time crusader for freedom and individual rights. Right now, it is vital that we restore the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. The greatest threat we face today is not terrorists;
it is our own federal government. If America is conquered or ruined it will be from within, not a foreign enemy.
In 1994 I filed a lawsuit challenging the Brady bill to stop the federal government from forcing another unfunded mandate down our throats. I won a decision at the US Supreme Court on the issue of States’ rights. This suit catapulted me to national attention, with television appearances on the Donahue Show, Good Morning America, Crossfire, Nightline, CNBC, and SHOWTIME’S the AMERICAN CANDIDATE. I’ve been on over 500 radio talk shows nationwide, ranging from G. Gordon Liddy and Charles Goyette to Derry Brownfield and Pat Buchannan. I have traveled the country extensively and I’ve seen first hand the horrible side effects from politicians who have replaced our Constitution with their own political agendas and party platforms.
I lecture and give seminars on constitutional issues relating to gun control, law enforcement, States’ rights, the farce, otherwise known as the drug war, and the oath of office. I have also been a consultant for lawyers, and people in general helping them with cases of unlawful arrests and police misconduct. I have stood for “the little guy” against “big brother” government.

Was there and managed to catch some video:
Thanks to everyone who made it out for the rallies On Friday! Seems like we had a good turn out across the state! We’ll be doing it again on the 22nd, and we’re extending an invitation to our House and Senate members.
I would also like to thank everyone who made it out to the Ridgedale Library for the Town Hall meeting focused on Health Reform and ACES HR 2454 (Cap & Trade)
Went to Senator Franken’s office today. There were about 30 people protesting the current health care proposals. A reporter from the Pioneer Press interviewed most people in the crowd. He was most interested to know if we were sent by any group to protest or were members or sponsored by any group. We all told him the truth. We found out about the event on the Tea Party MN website and took it upon ourselves to show up.
Franken of course was not there. We spoke to his staff, which were very polite. We left many letters and signed in with comments. If he has his ear to ground at all, he must listen to us.
CAP AND TAX COMMENT:
I have contacted Excel Energy and MidAmerican Energy natural gas for information on what is going to happen with energy costs if the Cap & Tax bill is passed. Electric rates are going up $8+/month starting January 2010. Natural gas prices are expected to go up 20 percent.
I visited with one of Rep Tim Waltz staffers. They are claiming that expected costs per household are only going up $125 per year per the congressional budget office. I enlightened her that this was not true. These two price increases are for natural gas and electricity, and not including other energy costs. And that this is just the start for additional energy costs for electricity and natural gas. Per the media, we can expect the $1500 per year per household easily after the bill is passed and in law.
Hey all,
found this on the Minnesota Independent web site:
The fight’s not over yet!
Still holding protests at the local offices of our elected officials.
We don’t want Government to Take over our health care. I don’t care if you call it “Single Payer” or “Co-Ops” it’s still socialized medicine.
Keep calling your elected officials:
phone, fax, and e-mail, the president, house and senate are dead set on ramming this down our throats.
Minnesota Tea Party Patriots is hosting a “Town Hall” on August 12th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Ridgedale Library. The first hour will deal with “Cap & Trade” the second will address “Health Care Reform”
We invite any one who can to be there!
I live in Maple Grove. Keep me informed on these meetings. Unfortunately I couldn’t make the meeting at the Ridgedale library that is close to my home.
Regards,
Ray
Thanks for posting the link to the song website! Please watch for the Youtube video coming soon!
Myself and several others have answered a call from Toni Backdahl and Kellie Cripe to organize this event
I received notice about the July 4th tea party. A couple questions: 1
1. Why have one July 4th if there is a nation-wide party on July 17th? You dilute your participation. If anything, I would have had one to protest Cap Trade passing the House or to protest it as it goes to Senate. My positive suggestion would be to stick to the nation-wide for the 17th or to put a more specific purpose to you July 4th protest, as I don’t understand the purpose of the event on the 4th.
2. Who are you? There are no names listed on the website anywhere. Many of us know one another and I have been wondering who is organizing this.
Thank you for your efforts if you are truly trying to unite the public, not just the “right”, against excessive taxation.
Ryan
This is a fun event but we want to use it as a springboard to connect concerned citizens with a group of like-minded individuals making them educated and empowered to reach out to our elected officials. Your participation and ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
Here is an e-mail we got and wanted to share the message and the song with y’all…
Thank you for all of your hard work!
I hope this is something you will find that you can use. Like you, I am very concerned about the future of our country. So as an ordinary guy (who also likes to play the guitar), I wrote and recorded this song over the last few months. It is dedicated to all Tea Pary Organizers, Volunteers and attendees as a tribute for all you are doing.
With that in mind, I hope you can find a few minutes to listen to it and then consider using it in any way that will be helpful to your efforts. You will find it attached as an MP3 file…I have also created a website for it where higher quality audio files are available for free. This file was made small for email purposes. The address is:
http://TheEagleAndTheLady.com
I WANT NOTHING IN RETURN. I am just trying to do my part, so feel free to use this for anything from your personal listening pleasure (assuming you like it), to forwarding this in order to help motivate people to come out to the Tea Party, or use it at the party itself.
Thank you,
Allen Orchowski
The July 4th event at the St. Paul Capitol is taking shape.
1) We need to get the word out
2) We need to raise funds
3) We need event monitors
National Day Of Tea Parties Protesting Government Run Healthcare ~ July 17th!Hey All,
I just want to announce that Tea Party Patriots will be hosting a National Day of Tea Parties on July 17th at 12:00 noon EDT / 9:00 am PDT. These Tea Party Patriot events will be held at every single congressional and senatorial district office in the country. All of these events are being held simultaneously for maximum impact.
The purpose of these tea parties is to bring attention to and protest government run healthcare.
If you are willing to lead the event at your local district office, please send me an email (amykremer@gmail.com) with your state, city, and congressional / senatorial office you will coordinate. Please include all of your contact information as well. We need a lot of Patriots to pull this event together.
Thanks for everything that each of you are doing to protect this wonderful country!
